I just got a 1080p 144hz monitor (Asus vg248qe) and it only came with a dual link DVID cable and no DisplayPort cable I was wondering if it makes any difference at all, if I use DVID instead of DisplayPort Duallink DVID cables for 144Hz refresh rate As mentioned above, standard length duallink DVID cables should be able to transmit 1080p at 144 Hz However, some merchants play it safe and list them as being able to support only 1 Hz
